WELCOME TO DEAF SWORD

Dear Readers,
On the last day of the post-conference tours to Melbourne, Australia from the 5th DMI Conference near Sydney last year we attended the special breaking of bread service led by Rod Chapman, the deaf pastor of DCCC (Deaf Christian Community Church). He explained the meaning of the breaking of bread. The message made the born-again believers who genuinely love Jesus Christ realize that they have been forgiven and made a special people of God. .

Make it Personal
It is possible to be close to Christ, yet so far from the life He offers. This was true even among His original 12 apostles. Even in that inner circle there was one, (Judas), probably the most trusted member of the group (for he kept the money), who never really had the kind of personal connection with Christ that we are talking about.

DCampDCamp
In December last year, we were able to take twenty deaf children from St Vincent School to the December Leadership Camp in Port Shepstone, Kwa-Zulu Natal. Initially we struggled to raise money for the camp and nearly gave up hope to attend but God knew that we all needed to go on this camp, to be drawn closer to Him. We thank God for providing for our needs as He never let us down and the children were able to attend. St Vincent School kindly offered two buses to transport the children.Full Story...

We were members of AOG in Nigel for 16 years until the Pastor was transferred to another church. So we went to AOG in Springs, about 20 kms away, sometimes for a year. Due to the problems with our old car, we decided to join AFM in Nigel. After 10 years with no interpreters to serve us, we didn’t want to be a burden on some kindly members taking turns in writing notes.
