The 5th Deaf Christian Conference was held at Rocklands Christian Camp and Conference Centre in Simonstown near Cape Town for the “long” weekend from 12th till 15th April 2007.

William and Bev were asked to take over a timeshare slot for seven days from 8 - 15 February. Heinrich and Carina Kutzner (HoH), the rightful owners of the timeshare were unable to make it as they were in the midst of the move to Durban.

4th Deaf Christian Conference
4th Deaf Christian Conference was held again at Eksderde Bushveld Camp, 30 kms north-east of Pretoria for the weekend of 14 - 17 April 2006. (Easter long weekend). This time fewer Deafies attended - about 50 of us (including a baby, 2 young girls and 2 teenagers) - nevertheless it was a very blessed time together. Many of us from Gauteng came by cars, combi with a trailer and a bakkie - 3 Deafies flew up from Durban and the other 2 travelled by train.

A new deaf church by the name of “Deaf New Life Church East ” was officially opened in Primrose, Germiston, on 2 April 2006. Several months before the establishment of the church, a message at the 3rd DMI Conference in Uganda last August stirred our heart with the rhema (convincingly clear) words: “I looked for a man who will stand in the gap ...” Ezek. 22 v 30.

Deaf Ministry to Durban
On Friday (10 March) on the way to Durban we turned off at Cedara to visit Myles & Nikki Sinclair (H) and their children, Kyle, Ian & Kirsty, for a lovely hour of chat (in Sign Language)! We couldn't believe how much their children have grown, esp. Kyle who is almost as tall as his father. Myles and Nikki haven't forgotten their Sign Language.

News from Fireplace Church - Germiston, August 2005
On Saturday, 27 August 2005, the Spring Ball was hosted by A'Blaze (Youth) at The House on a warm evening. We, the Deafies, Eunice May, Dricus Penderis, Ivor & Nicky Kleynhans, William & Bev Warmington, Kathleen Griffin and Wendy Gouvea sat around the smartly laid table with three candles burning brightly as the hall was dimly and romantically lit. There were over 50 people.

3rd DMI Conference in Uganda
At first five of us (Hermanus and Chantalle Engelbrecht, William and Bev Warmington and Stanley Maloka) planned to attend the conference but Stanley cancelled at the last week due to the tragic death of his younger brother. Due to a strike all of SAA planes were grounded. This caused us some anxiety but thankfully the strike ended two days before our departure on Sunday 31st July 2005.

I had the privilege of being requested by Hester Holliday (D), to be present at the funeral service of her late husband, Clive Robert Holliday on Friday, 24th June 2005 in Durban and to say something about Clive. Ministry to Durban
William was invited to preach to the Durban Deaf on 1st May 2005 while Clive & Hester Holliday (D), their leaders, were overseas in UK for a month holiday. Three of their four children live there.
