Mr. Paul FloydOfficial Press Release from Go! Sign (UK)

Go! Sign heard the very sad news of a respected and experienced Deaf Christian former pastor, elder and leader in the last thirty-five years, Mr. Paul Floyd, who died peacefully after long battle against cancer, on Saturday 5th July 2008. His close family were with him to the very end. Go! Sign recognized him as a gifted Bible teacher who helped many Deaf people to understand more about the Word of God. He was very committed to run Alpha courses in Sign Language in the last ten years, opening the way for

Deaf people to know Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord. Not only that, many Deaf people felt they understood better about Christianity after completing Alpha and they appreciated what Paul and his supporters did.

Franco Beschizza, Chair of Go! Sign, states, “I have known Paul for over 32 years. I was an elder in the Deaf Christian Fellowship’s London Church when he was pastor. He was known to both the Deaf community and Christian community as a dignified person with dry sense of humour, which many of us upon reading this, would agree.

Paul shared his love for the Lord in many ways. We have been impressed with Jannice’s family, now that the three sons are active in their churches. We thank God that Paul saw his family grow with two grandchildren. We give our thoughts and prayers that Jannice and the family in those times of remembering a remarkable man, to receive much comfort, support and peace during this special sad time.”

Go! Sign Director statement, “Paul had always demonstrated an exemplary Christian character of deaf person and his resilient faith in Christ throughout the past years had influenced many people. Thank you, Paul. May God comforts be surrounding his beloved wife, Jannice, and the boys.”

In His name,

Kevin Birch
