Colombia

The Deaf Church in Bogota had its One Year Anniversary on February 20 (2011). It has been a year since we made the move to be an independent Deaf Church. God has richly blessed us, AMEN! The Celebration was a day long affair. There were 45 Deaf in attendance that Sunday morning for services and over 60 for the party that afternoon. The Deaf Church presented Certificates of Appreciations to our honoured guests, Patti Jones, Dale Meade and Dewayne Liebrandt. We pray the Lord will give us many more years to serve Him and touch the Deaf of Bogota for the Kingdom of God. AMEN!

A team of 4 students and 4 adults came to Colombia from Deaf Missions and In His Sign (from USA) to help at Deaf Camp with games, dramas and wherever help was needed. They arrived early on a Friday morning and went to the Filadelfia School for the Deaf where they would be staying while in Bogota. That afternoon they met the students at an assembly and shared with them for two hours.

Everyone had a great time even though the Americans were exhausted from their red-eye night flight.

William MoraWilliam Mora (Deaf Pastor) and the Deaf Church in Bogota held their first Deaf Camp in Colombia from April 21 - 24, 2011. There were 51 deaf in attendance. 22 Deaf made the decision to be baptized. Due to a mountain slide 14 Deaf, from another area, were not able to attend which was a shame.

William and his team had us busy from 6.00am until after 10.00pm every day with a full schedule of teaching and events. They did a wonderful job of organizing this camp, this being their first time. Resurrection Sunday morning came and there were 22 Deaf who had made the decision to be baptized. It was a wonderful thing to see so many people coming to Jesus Christ on such an important day as Resurrection Sunday, AMEN! William said there were over 70 Deaf the following Sunday in attendance. Plans are already being made for Deaf Camp the week proceeding
Resurrection Sunday next year.
