Thailand

We have all been praying to avoid this for 11 years. It is with the saddest of hearts that I have to share this tearful news with you all. The courts in Thailand pronounced on April 5 that Pongsak (D) must spend 1 year and 4 months in jail, with the possibility of an earlier release for good behaviour. This sentence is non-appealable. The courts read their sentence and then took Pongsak to jail.

We all need to keep Pongsak, his father Chetsada and his mother Maloon in our prayers. All of us at DMI are confident that somehow a blessing of the Lord will come out of this heart-wrenching situation. Please pray Pongsak stays strong in his faith and that he continues to witness for God in these dark times and situations he is facing. Pongsak will endure this hardship!

I have been in constant contact with Pongsak's parents the past several months. He has recently been moved from the Chiang Mai Prison to Payao. This prison is closer to his family and it allows longer and more frequent visits. That is a huge encouragement to Pongsak!

His parents have told me Pongsak might be out this summer but they are certain it will be no later that the King's Birthday on December 5.

Please continue to pray for the earliest release possible!
