An Effective Prayer
James
5:16, “The
effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails
much,”
effective prayer is defined as prayer that works. B.J. Willhite says, “Ordinary (normal) Christians must be
convinced (positive) that their prayers make a
difference. Unless a person believes that his of her
prayers really make a difference he or she is not likely
to pray consistently (again and again).”
God can accomplish those things without
us, but in His plan He gives us the privilege of
being involved with Him through prayer. When we
pray for others, we become partners with God in
His work of salvation, healing, comfort,
and justice.
For the
Christian prayer is not an option but an opportunity.
Richard Eastman says, “In prayer; expect setbacks, but
refuse retreat. Don't tell the Lord how big the problem
is, tell the problem how Great the Lord is!”
