An ugly fir tree - Marian Bothma (D)
There was an ugly fir tree at the back yard of my neighbour. That old tree was weird
because all the side branches were chopped off leaving short protruding stubs and the top branch hanging over!

New Baby - Wilma du Toit (HoH)
My mother got German measles when she was 2 weeks pregnant because of that I was deaf, only have 1 eye to see with. I was born on 3 July. The doctor said that I was given 6 months to live. My mother had me in her arms while the doctors said that I was busy dying and very weak. I was a very sick baby for 22 months.

I was taught about God but it always seemed that I was told how angry God was and that He punished people if they did wrong. I was never told about the love God had for me. I was so fearful of Him. When I left school, I just shut God out of my life.

"Repent & Prepared for His Coming" - Marian Bothma (D)
At Dominican Grimley School for the Deaf in Cape Town I learnt Catholic catechism. When my mother remarried, we moved to live on a farm in Koster - North West. I used to pray Catholic prayer daily before I went to bed. When I was a teenager, I was confirmed at Methodist Church - I used to go to different Christian Churches where my step-relatives frequented.

Nine years ago, I was involved in 2 serious accidents, 3 months apart. My back was damaged in the first one and re-hurt in the second. The specialists have been telling me that the problem is "degenerative" which means it will never get better, only worse, and that ultimately I would have to have a back operation to fuse together the lower section of my spine.

I was born in September 1969 into a family of 20 siblings. My father had five wives. I was born hearing but became deaf at the age of 8 as a result of my teacher frequently hitting my head.

On 11 August 2004 , I was involved in serious motorcar accident. As I was turning right to enter into my work driveway, the taxi combi overtook and hit into my car. My car was squashed between the tree and the combi taxi. The impact was so severe that I could be killed or serious injured.

Taking Drugs Will Never Make Your Life Better

Due to depression I could not eat breakfast and lunch
but ate a little food for supper. A few months later
in church I collapsed and was taken to a doctor for a
blood test, which found no salt. The doctor gave me
vitamin tablets. I had sleepless night every night and
as a result I went to another doctor who prescribed
the sleeping pills.

My Past Life - How I Became Born-Again

I did not have a job for 3 years in East London,
Eastern Cape. So I planned to go to Johannesburg
to look for a job there. I arrived in
Johannesburg. I then went to Mafikeng
to look for a job in the Army but they would
not accept me. One day I went to job-hunting
in Elandsfontein, near Germiston and there I
saw a banner "Jesus is Lord" on the
building. I went inside the building,
asking for a job and the men said I must come
back on Sunday.

it was then that I began to pray for a motorcar,
and trust God for His provision.
Many months later my need
became much greater and, still being without
transport, I decided to apply for a Bank loan.
Twice my application was rejected.
