True Christmas

Did anyone invite a guy called "Jesus Christ"?

TRUE CHRISTMAS

Soon many Christians will celebrate Christmas. We read the story about Jesus’ birth in the books of Matthew and Luke. The word “Christmas” is not found in the Bible. And Jesus never told us to remember His birth. But it is good to know this story and to thank God for sending Jesus to the earth.

Each country has its own Christmas traditions. Some families have their own Christmas traditions too, eg. by decorating the Christmas tree, leaving presents under it, giving out presents and sharing Christmas lunch with their families. Traditions are okay but they should never be more important than the true meaning of Christmas. Some people will celebrate the Christmas day by not going to the church or remembering Jesus’ birth but by eating, drinking and being merry. Luke 12 v 19

The true meaning of Christmas is that God sent His Son, Jesus, to earth as a human. Jesus lived on earth for about thirty-three years. Then He died a gruesome death on the cross and shed His precious blood so that He could forgive us our sins and save us from hell. Jesus rose up from the dead so that we, who believe in Him, may not die but have eternal life with Him. John 3 v 16

This is the tradition that we remember each year. Don’t forget to thank God for sending Jesus to be our Saviour.
